An Arc Flash PPE is specifically designed to protect workers from the dangers of an electric arc. Aside from electric shock, an arc flash is one of the most severe risks electricians face daily. Even something as simple as dropping an uninsulated tool or metal part can create a connection, leading to an arc flash. The damage caused by an arc flash is alarming, as the heat generated can reach temperatures as high as 20,000°C. Additionally, the ultraviolet light, explosive shockwaves, and deafening sounds from an arc flash can cause permanent damage to vision and hearing.
